Success Stories

At Chadwell Heath Academy we encourage and support students in achieving their very best in all aspects of their sixth form career. We have many success stories each year encompassing academic achievement, career development and community engagement. These stem from our links with Universities, employers and a range of different access schemes such as the Sutton Trust and The Challenge.

Here are some of the achievements of our sixth formers this year :

Congratulations to Yusuf Badshah for achieving 4 A* grades at A Level. Followed hot on the heels by  Jamell Samuels,  Tanvir Kabir, Anneka Patel and Mahmood Qasim who gained 4 A* and A Grades. Not to foget the nine students who gained 3 A* and A grades at A – level. Well done to Rebecca Birch, Kirren Chana, Aaron Dhandli, Joseph Phoenix, Mashrur Islam, Jasveen Bansal, Kajal Bhundia, Tahmin Lais and Paul Padda all setting the bar high for 2014’s Year 13.

Well done to over 20 sixth formers who completed The Challenge as part for the national volunteering network. The programme included a week long outward bound team building adventure in Wales and Yorkshire  and then the serious business began with the students dividing into teams to plan out a community activity for the autumn that they felt would benefit people in  Redbridge and the surrounding boroughs.

In the summer term Senior Student Louise Francis, Omar Carney and Kofi Assan gained a coveted place on the ‘National School Analyst Competition’ which was held at the University of Sunderland this year. They got to experience university life stopping in halls, visiting local sites as well as attending lectures and taking part in team competitions. Well done to all of them.

Three of our budding actors gained places at the Haymarket Academy summer school. The Academy is a unique place offering young people the opportunity to immerse themselves in the professional world of theatre. The Academy is as much about learning about theatre as it is about gaining fundamental life skills and self-confidence. Based at the Theatre Royal Haymarket & mirroring a West End theatre company the Academy Performance Project is an exclusive opportunity for young people (aged 14 – 18 years) who want to get involved with creating and staging a performance. From acting to prop making all aspects of theatre are covered and the final performance is held on stage at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. Look out for the names Simone Skelton, Lia Jhala and Nabhaan Rizwan up in lights soon!.
